Indeed, even today that is an allowable defense, usually with the caveat that this is only an allowable defense if the first moment you are capable of safely doing so, you reported the behavior to a relevant authority. However, if you provably didn't report it when it was safe to do so, you do not get to use this as a defense.In this guys case though I wonder "report to who?", I imagine it's similar to being a Chinese citizen working in one of the concentration camps they're currently running, even if you're disgusted by what's going on... Who are you going to tell? Your government are the ones sanctioning this behaviour, what can you do? Not defending just curious, I honestly can't say that if I was in his position at 17 years old I'd of done anything different.
