Finishing up my medical degree and my wife is a nurse. She’s off for three weeks thank god. But this whole pandemic has made my wife dread a job she used to love. I’m too far in to change now but the whole vibe in the hospital has changed. Everyone is on edge and yes we hate, absolutely fucking hate, selfish antiscience/medical idiots in the US. Cool, you don’t believe in medicine? Don’t come to us for that lump, fever, chest pain or anything else. You don’t want to wear a mask fine go die at home.

My wife gave birth to our first child on a Saturday back in March. Our school system shut down the following Monday. I taught my classes from home for the rest of the year and have since been on summer break. 6 uninterrupted months of time with my son. If they told me I had to go into a COVID disaster waiting to happen like what’s going on in this photo... maybe I’d try to sue, but I would 100% quit. No amount of money is worth endangering my son, and there will (mark my words) be a MASSIVE teacher shortage because of this complete buffoonery. The "deep state" that frustrates the initiatives of a new government are professional government employees who have far more control over how things go down than the man in charge because they're the ones actually doing the work.
