I think the trick is that maelstrom - in my experience, doesn't really have "stopping power" against illusions. I've taken WR up against Naga, TB, and PL, and in almost all cases even with Mjolnir's active, it helps, but it's not enough. A farmed PL fighting into you with your Mjolnir going and the Mjolnir active on you just doesn't kill the illusions fast enough.

My wife gave birth to our first child on a Saturday back in March. Our school system shut down the following Monday. I taught my classes from home for the rest of the year and have since been on summer break. 6 uninterrupted months of time with my son. If they told me I had to go into a COVID disaster waiting to happen like what’s going on in this photo... maybe I’d try to sue, but I would 100% quit. No amount of money is worth endangering my son, and there will (mark my words) be a MASSIVE teacher shortage because of this complete buffoonery.
