I worked at a shitty Dairy Queen in high school. Stable people react appropriately when something is wrong with their order. The people who act like this normally didn’t get napkins in the bag or the milkshake is too thick to easily suck through the straw. Yup, I totally think you’re right in this. I’ve worked in a grocery store when I was younger and the asshole customers were assholes from the Teachers And Coffee An Unbreakable Bond Shirt moment they walked through the doors. Usually coming from work where I presume they’ve had a shit day. Through all the abuse I always tried to keep my calm by thinking that I actually feel sad for them; having so little going on in their lives that they choose to expend all that energy on a minor inconvenience and talking down to someone they know nothing about.
This customer notoriously a pain in the ass, everyone who has talked to him has a bad experience. So my manager had to call the customer back and tell him that no one wanted to work with him anymore. So the end result is that the owner now has to deal with the customer whenever he calls in or needs assistance. I did this 6/7 times trying to clear the fault. There’s no employee around to help me with this. The line behind me is now 15 people deep. I know how to use a computer, this should be simple – but I’m seething.
